Head Mistress Message

Greetings from Stella Maris school,

God loves every child so much, that he has created each one of them with unimaginable perfection. Truly, they are blessings from heaven.
It is our responsibility to guide them so that they are able to face the life’s challenges confidently and courageously making use of the time, talents energy and opportunities and climb the ladder of success by shining like stars, growing like a healthy plant, and blooming like a flower spreading their fragrance in the family, school and society. Education is not a name of any degree or certificate that can be shown to others as a proof. Education is the name of our attitude, action, language and behaviour with others in real life.

Benjamin Franklin a famous scientist said, “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn”.

A student learns better by observing and doing than just by listening. Being aware that every child is unique, he or she has unique personality traits, interests, preferences, values, attitudes, strengths, and weaknesses we guide them to find his or her unique place in the world in alignment with the uniqueness that he or she has.

At Stella Maris school, we aim at an all-round formation of every young person so that they may develop their personality fully and become in their turn builders of their own future. Education activities in our school are based on the spiritual experiences of our foundress St.Bartolomea Capitanio. We train the young to be persons for others, individuals who with an attitude of service, work selflessly to promote peace, unity, tolerance and compassion

We strive at the formation of persons, intellectually competent who think critically act effectively in various situations of life and are emotionally balanced, radiating happiness and contentment all around. Our education aims at forming genuine and loyal citizens of Mother India. Besides academics we also give emphasis to extra-curricular activities so that students those who study here may become women of high levels of personal competence, conscience, compassion and commitment.

As we know today, every parent wants to give the best education to children, which is not just confined to the books but it goes much beyond that. The parents look at the holistic development of their children as that is essential to edge in the global scenario. That is why parents focus on extracurricular activities and value education along with academics.

Surely, value-based education is essential for the holistic development of a child. It develops a well-balanced individual with a strong character and value.

Our teachers go beyond teaching and impart not only knowledge but they help with character building as well by their value- based education, -to think, act and talk in an optimistic way. I am grateful to all our parents and well-wishers who are with us in our task of imparting value-based education to our students. They are our strength.

May our students march out from this Institution into a wider world with a sense of joy and commitment,
-to promote democratic way of thinking and living
-to make sound decisions on the basis of moral principles
-to tolerate and respect the different cultures and religious faiths
-to face life’s challenges with a positive outlook
-to make our country and its people healthier, happier, tolerant and
peace lover with less inequalities and human misery.

As I end these few lines, I invite all of you to play your role with responsibility, remembering, the words of Ann Landers “It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves that will make them successful human beings”

May our patroness Mary- the star of the sea help all of us to sail across the sea of life.
